Pharma spatial experience · 2022

An immersive 3D portal for doctors, delivering an innovative spatial experience.

The hemato-oncology reception inside the Astellas 3D pavilion: a glazed hall standing in a snow field, a filmed presenter behind the branded desk, information panels floating in the air and the department’s color sculpture behind her.

Solution

A highly optimized Three.js experience with spatial navigation, five reception areas, bilingual voice-overs, embedded video playback and downloadable documents. Polygon budgets, textures, baked lighting and transparency were tuned for older tablet hardware.

My role

Complete Three.js programming and technical integration under a partner-agency umbrella: interaction architecture, navigation, media and document logic, voice-over switching, responsive behavior and performance optimization.

Team & collaboration

Three-person core team: Václav Štrobl as Three.js developer, a 3D artist responsible for the environment, and the partner-agency director; creative inputs were supplied.

Constraints
  • A large outdoor 3D scene had to run smoothly even on older iPads.
  • Strict optimization of polygon count, textures, baked lighting and alpha transparency.
  • Five interactive reception areas, bilingual voice-overs, 45 video choices and downloadable documents inside one experience.
The pavilion lobby, where a doctor picks a department — urology, oncology, hemato-oncology or transplant — each with its own reception island and presenter.
Deliverables
  1. 013D branded content portal
  2. 02Video and document presentation zones
  3. 03Spatial navigation and interaction layer
  4. 04Optimized WebGL delivery
